Kaitlin T. Boettcher was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2014, she earned her Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in Social Work and a Certificate in Leadership Studies at The University of Iowa. In 2017, Kaitlin was awarded her Juris Doctor degree from The University of Iowa College of Law.

While attending law school, Kaitlin worked for a family law firm as a Legal Researcher and researched various family law issues and drafted memoranda and briefs. She was also active in the law school community working in the law school’s legal clinic, representing clients in employment matters and permanent civil protective order cases. She was also a member of the Pro Bono Society participating in various volunteer opportunities, including working at the Iowa Legal Aid Self-Represented Divorce Litigant Clinic.

In September 2017, Kaitlin was admitted to the practice of law in Iowa. She started her practice at a law firm in Sioux City and practiced in a variety of different civil legal areas, including but not limited to family law, guardianships and conservatorships, and landlord/tenant proceedings. In September 2021, Kaitlin joined Harrison & Dietz-Kilen, P.L.C. as an associate attorney. Kaitlin maintains a general civil practice that includes family law, adoptions, name change actions, probate, guardianships and conservatorships, and estate planning.

In February 2022, Kaitlin became a Certified Divorce and Family Law Mediator. She is currently on the Statewide List of Approved Mediators for Mandatory Family Law Mediation in the 5th Judicial District.

Kaitlin is a member of the Polk County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys (I.O.W.A.). When not advocating for her clients, Kaitlin enjoys traveling, hiking, baking, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
